Are you passionate about mental health and eager to make a difference in the lives of young people? Kites Trust is looking for a dynamic and empathetic individual to join our team as a Youth Peer Lead.
There is a great opportunity to become a Youth Peer Lead.
In this role, you will:
- Ensure the smooth running of the Youth Peer Service through organization and administrative tasks.
- Guide and support the Youth Peer Team, helping them develop their skills and confidence.
- Provide backup support for peer-led facilitation of Youth Peer groups when needed.
- Engage the wider rangatahi Poneke community and related organizations through social media activities and outreach efforts.

The Kites Youth Peer Lead is right for me if…
- I identify as a ‘peer’. This refers to someone who has had a personal experience of mental distress and addiction that has disrupted their life for a significant period. All staff must have a level of understanding of the impact mental distress crisis can have on a person’s life.
- Emotional maturity, empathy, high emotional intelligence, and a positive approach to change. Ability to work well within a team and align with our organizational values.
- I want to make a difference in the community, build relationships, and be part of the Peer movement.
