Youth Peer Support

The Peer Tree is a peer support service developed by Kites Trust in 2016, which provides community support for young adults in Wellington City who experience mental distress.

The Peer Tree was born out of a forum held by Early Intervention Service in 2014 who, after several conversations, found that, for young adult (aged 18-24 years old) service users they felt that their biggest need for their mental health recovery was more peer support in the community.

Since July 2016 The Peer Tree has run a variety of social groups in Wellington that provide social interaction for young adults in the community. In addition The Peer Tree has created a series of workshops which aim to provide some simple tools and skills for young adults wanting to support their peers in the community.
